Cape Town Inner City Infrastructure Projects

This project consists of the provision of professional engineering services for the pavement and road upgrade assessment of Inner City Trunk roads, i.e. sections of Adderley Street, Hans Strydom, Western Boulevards and Beach Road, for the Intercity Bus Routes Project (articulated bus types).  The assessment also include for additional feeder routes across the Inner City for both new 12 m and 9 m buses.

In excess of 20 roads, with various subsections each, were investigated in detail to advise on cost effective, structurally sound, pavement and structural upgrade methodologies.  Cost estimates of all recommended works were provided and phased construction upgrade programmes provided.

Construction administration of first two upgrade phases is currently being done by GIBB.
