Johannesburg Inner City Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)





GIBB was appointed to provide transportation planning, traffic engineering, detail design and implementation of the BRT links in the inner city.

In order to deal with increasing transport problems faced in JHB today, the city has introduced the Rea Vaya Bus transit System. The Rea Vaya Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) is designed to provide high quality and adoptable transport system, which is fast and safe. Rea Vaya comprises a middle lane for large, high tech buses which will transport the public comfortably and quickly around JHB, using specific designated routes, enclosed bus stations and high tech control centre to ensure the Rea Vaya experience is a world class one.
