Maclear and Greenfields Sewerage Treatment Works

The proposed sewerage treatment plant is envisaged as being a 3-phase phoredox activated sludge process plant for normal domestic sewerage to remove mainly COD, nitrates and phosphates.


Key Features

The plant mainly consists of:
  • Head of works for screening, grit removal and flow measurement
  • Reactor with an anaerotic, anoxic and aerobic zone for nutrification, denitrification and phosphate removal as well as removing COD in the aerobic zone
  • Clarifier for solid separation
  • Tertiary processes for backup phosphate removal and disinfection
  • Drying beds for sludge dewatering
