uMzimkhulu Flood Protection Project
GIBB was appointed to undertake a flood protection study for the uMzimkhulu Town. The study will identify the extent to which the river can be expected to rise during flood events of varying magnitudes. This process is important in identifying those areas at most risk during floods, both for emergency measures and for future planning needs.
The main objective of the study is to determine the most economic and environmentally acceptable solution to the flooding problem being experienced in the uMzimkhulu Central Business District.
