GIBB’s multi-disciplinary Airport Services Sector offers a broad spectrum of services to the airports and aviation industry including the following specialist areas:


Aviation and airport planning and licensing

Detailed assessments, planning and design on specialist projects related to feasibility, project management, implementation and commissioning of new and/or refurbished airports. 


Pavement (taxiway, runway, apron, roads) engineering

Specialist assessment and design of heavy-duty aircraft wheel-load applications and innovative materials design, such as new asphalt products (Warm Mix Asphalt, High Modules Asphalt, Recycled Asphalt mixes), as well as contract administration of these and other specialist construction projects.


Pavement and friction management systems

Implementing decision based asset management systems (including software), as well as annual condition updating of these management systems to enable airport clients to estimate and budget future maintenance expenditure in order to keep their valuable facilities in safe and functional operation.


Electrical lighting, safety and security systems

Design, construction and administration of aircraft pavement lighting, security fencing and perimeter intrusion detection systems.


Structural, building and mechanical services

Feasibility assessments, detail design and contract administration of construction of buildings, structures and other mechanical airport systems. 


Feasibility studies and Public Private Partnership projects

Detailed analyses of operational needs, alternative facility comparisons, economic and financial cost and benefit analyses, return on investment studies, funding and business plan drafting.


Safety and risk assessments

Safety and condition assessment of runways and other airport facilities in order to evaluate compliance with ICAO and other CAA operational and safety requirements.


General airport planning, services integration studies and roads access systems

Masterplanning, vertical integration planning of new or proposed facilities, transport assessment and public transport system synchronization, as well as access road traffic impact assessments and the planning, design and construction of access road systems. 


Environmental impact studies and EMP administration

Basic assessment and detailed EIA studies of proposed construction projects, as well as EMP documentation and administration during the construction stage of each project.


International review
